Accountant

Job Description

The Accountant is responsible for preparing journal entries and maintaining the Company’s general ledger and third-party transactions, assisting in the designing controls for the Company’s SOX program. Responsible for ad-hoc accounting, internal controls, and regulatory/compliance, and technical research and analyzing accruals and performing reconciliations.
 
  • Post journal entries
  • Reconcile GL accounts, inclusive of, clearing any reconciling items
  • Prepare various month-end schedules to assist with closing the books
  • Prepare various quarter-end SEC schedules
  • Prepare various quarter-end Call Report schedules
  • Review GL accounts and wbs for reasonableness
  • Assist with ad-hoc reporting and analysis
  • Assist with correcting problems discovered with the posting of loan activity
  • Support the validation of accurate entry of transactions into the accounting system through daily, monthly, and quarterly account reconciliations and monitoring.
  • Review and process disbursements for employee travel and expense reports. Support the accounting management team and business units with the budgeting, cost management, reporting, and forecasting initiatives.
  • Manage all month end accounting for fixed assets, prepaid expenses, unpaid invoice accruals, payroll, cost allocations, and account reconciliations.
  • Maintaining financial records in accordance with GAAP and organizational standards.
  • Create and update processes and procedures for journal entries. 
  • Qualification

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) – required
  • Minimum 2 years of accounting experience
  • Hands-on experience with general ledger accounting, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
  • Proven experience supporting month-end and quarter-end close
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and SOX/internal controls
  • Experience preparing or supporting regulatory and SEC-related schedules
  • High attention to detail with strong analytical and reconciliation skills
